life in the fast lane

This post goes out to the dumb people who don't know how to use the self checkout at Super Store. This group of people are usually over 60 and can barely see the screen. I was waiting for six n00bs try to work the machines and it was sooooo painful. There are cashiers for a reason, for you people.
Here are a couple tips:
  1. Make sure you place your item on the bag holder after you scan it. I assume that there is a weight sensor under the bag holder that can tell that you have put an item down. The computer won't let you do anything else until you do!
  2. Don't talk to the computer, it can't hear you. The computer was telling this woman to put the item in the bag (see point 1) and she was talking back to the computer, "I already did" repeatedly. Just follow the instructions, it's not that hard!
  3. Don't try to checkout with your weeks worth of groceries for your 12 children on the self checkout machines. I love the fact that you have 12 children, just go checkout somewhere else.
  4. Don't sign the screen when you pay with the credit card. One woman took the plastic stylus (with the signing pad right underneath it) and was signing on the computer screen, hahahahahaha.
I felt sorry for the girl that was working the self checkout section. She was running around from station to station helping people out. In conclusion, if you need help with your checkout, go to the cashier. They do call it a self checkout for a reason.

slow down baby

The F-14 Tomcat is being retired by the US Navy. If you didn't know, this is THE plane that is used in Top Gun, possibly one of the greatest movies of all time. The super sweet thing with this plane is the swing wings, which move depending on the flight mode and it reminds me of an X-wing because of the moving wings. Swing wings are the shit. X-wings are the shit. Moving wings are the shit. Hot wings are the shit. Christina Aguilera is the shit.

ANNOUNCEMENT: now, anyone can post comments on my blog (there you go Shannon).

mariahhhh, take me highaahhhhhh

Just went to the Mariah concert last night. It was soooo awesome. This was her first time in Edmonton and I'm glad I didn't miss it. She sang a lot of old school stuff considering this tour is for her new album. Rexall was wayyy more packed than I thought it'd be. There were 12,500 people in there (keep in mind the back half was roped off because it was behind the stage). I didn't think she was that hot before, but after the concert, I gotta say she's mad hot. Just gotta say to all you haters out there, it was an awesome show and you missed it.

on the roof again

I haven't blogged in a while, I know this. With school starting up again, there will be stuff to talk about! For example: I am still riding my motorcycle, I am coaching volleyball at Ainlay again, and I rappelled off a hotel in downtown Edmonton. The rappelling was for the Easter Seals Drop Zone event. Sweet.

Here's a pic from a group ride that I was on recently:

Here's a pic looking over the edge of the roof. It was told that it was 29 storeys up.

I'm going over!

We then went to party with the Drop Zone guys and I woke up super tired today. Oh man!

punk rock steven segal

I recently joined this online community called Facebook. It's basically a myspace type of thing, but you join with your university email address and are put onto that university's network. You can only view the profiles of people from your school, unless you add them as your friend. Sounds pretty lame, but it's crazy the people you find on there. If you have it, add me!

say again?

Why does everybody in Gilmore Girls talk so fast?
